Are you really into travel and the tourism world? IGCSE Travel and Tourism takes you through the hospitality industry and how it all fits together, from managing destinations to delivering great customer service. You’ll build a clear understanding of how tourism works and the practical skills that help you do well in this fast-moving sector.

Throughout the course, you’ll cover lots of areas such as tourism geography, cultural tourism, event management, sustainable tourism, and the travel and tourism business. With lessons that feel engaging, plus real-life style case studies and hands-on activities, you’ll start to see why travel matters and how important it is to create positive experiences for visitors.

With IGCSE Travel & Tourism, we’re aiming to help you become:

How it works
You can begin the IGCSE Travel & Tourism course whenever you like. Everything is completed online, so you can study in a way that fits around your schedule, giving you plenty of breathing room.
The programme is built to give you a strong grounding in Travel & Tourism, plus the skills you’ll need if you want to move into further education or pursue a career in the industry.
Each subject includes structured guided learning time online. You’ll also have access to extra optional support like recommended practice activities, suggested readings, digital resources, and self-check tasks to help you see where you’re improving.
When it’s time for your qualification, you’ll sit written exams at an exam centre. Once you’re ready, you can also learn more about exam centres and how to find one.
Throughout the course, you’ll get 1-2-1 tutor support along with everything you need to study, including course materials. After you pass, you’ll receive your IGCSE Travel & Tourism certificate, which can support next steps such as A Levels, higher education, roles linked to science-based careers, or starting a Level 3 qualification through Online Business School.

Sitting the Exam
To take an IGCSE exam, first find an exam centre in your country that accepts private candidates. Once you’ve chosen a centre, you’ll register with them and complete any required payments.
Before the exam day, double-check that your statement of entry is correct. Also make sure you bring valid identification to every exam, and keep in touch with your centre or exam provider in case anything changes or you have questions, including special access arrangements.
After the exams, if you feel you need extra consideration, tell your centre or exam provider. You can collect your results and certificates from them. If needed, you can also ask about options such as reviews of marking or appeals, again through the centre or exam provider.

Am I eligible for this programme?
Most learners complete the IGCSE around the age of 14 to 16, but you can enrol at any age as long as you’re over 14. There are also no previous qualifications required to join this course.
