child development child safety steps importance of play online tutor support NCFE CACHE accreditation

Every child deserves to grow up in a way that’s safe, healthy, and genuinely supports their development. Of course, there are also risks out there that can affect children and young people in real ways. In this Level 2 course, you’ll explore how children can be protected and how their wellbeing can be supported.

Take your first steps in a career in early years with a nationally recognised childcare course.

The Level 2 Certificate in Introducing Caring for Children and Young People is a solid choice if you’re considering a job working with children, or if you simply want a better understanding of how they grow, learn, and develop. You’ll study online with help from a tutor, and you’ll build knowledge around child development, why play matters, and the steps needed to keep children and young people safe.

This Level 2 qualification gives you a really helpful base for moving on to further learning, including the Early Years Educator option. It’s also a nice starting point if you’re looking to get into childcare work.

How will I study?

We call our online courses “flexible” because they’re built to fit around the rest of your life. Once you’re enrolled, you’ll get access to our online learning space, where you’ll go through your assessments with guidance from a subject specialist tutor, whenever you need it.
