How this Level 4 & 5 Health and Social Care Management Diploma Works
On our Health and Social Care programme, you can work through a Level 4 Diploma (120 credits), a Level 5 Diploma (120 credits), or combine both into a single Level 4 & 5 Diploma (240 credits). These qualifications are awarded by OTHM. The goal is simple: you build the knowledge and practical capability you need to progress into supervisory, management, or specialist positions across the Health and Social Care sector.
The entire course runs online, so you can fit it around your life. You also get flexible start dates, which helps if you’re juggling work, family, or other commitments. Each Level 4 and Level 5 module includes 40 hours of guided learning, with an additional 30–50 hours of optional study materials. That may include readings, exercises, digital resources, and self-check activities.
There’s no need to sit exams because assessment is based on written assignments. To complete the full Level 4 & 5 qualification, you’ll submit six written assignments at each level, usually around 2,000–3,000 words each, and you’ll upload everything online.
When you finish, you’ll receive an OTHM Diploma in Health and Social Care Management. It supports your career journey and can also be used to top up to a full bachelor’s degree at a range of UK universities, either on campus or via distance learning.
Throughout the course, you’ll have access to 1-2-1 tutor support and webinars, plus social learning forums and extra materials, so you’re not doing it all alone.
