In this course, you’ll learn what allergens are, what can trigger reactions, and what to do if someone has a reaction, including basic first aid steps.
Allergy Awareness
Skills covered in this course
Ensure you have up-to-date allergen knowledge with our allergy awareness course.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) reports that roughly 6% of people in the UK live with a food allergy that’s been diagnosed, while about 30% of adults say they’ve had an adverse reaction after eating certain foods. Because food allergies can sometimes be serious, it matters that food is labelled clearly and handled properly, so people with allergens can stay safe.
Local councils take care of enforcing allergen information rules, but it’s still down to each business to make sure their team has the right, up-to-date allergy training. With this allergy awareness course, you’ll build confidence in recognising allergens, understanding why reactions happen, and knowing how to respond.
